Connect from any language
Complete hosted setup first. You can use any maintained native driver compatible with the selected engine; no Lordbase-specific SDK is required.
- Get the database’s public host, port, native database name and TLS options from connection details.
- Create an application database user with the permissions you need. Save the returned username and password.
- Configure your driver with these values. If using a URI, encode username/password components correctly and preserve engine-specific query options.
- Run a minimal operation: PostgreSQL
SELECT 1, a Redis command within your assigned key prefix, or a MongoDB ping. - Add connection timeouts, bounded pooling and error handling before introducing application queries.
| Engine | Driver example | Extra configuration |
|---|---|---|
| PostgreSQL | Node.js pg | Actual database name and deployment TLS policy |
| Redis | Python redis | ACL username, database 0, exact key_prefix |
| MongoDB | Python pymongo | Preserve authSource, database name and TLS URI options |
For other languages, map the same connection fields to your driver’s configuration. Hostnames, ports and engine versions in examples are not promises about your resource. Always read the values for your database.
A connection URI contains a password. Keep it in a server-side environment variable or secret store, never in a frontend bundle or committed config. See application configuration for a reusable layout.
